ROKU STUFF
Long ago I picked up a Roku HD10000. I haven't fallen for it
completely but I did like it alot. So... in an effort to support those
that offer applications for the Roku HD10000 I would like to give them
a bit of space here on my site for their projects.
My most favorite application was Weathersix from HERE. Weathersix
is a great plugin allowing you to view local and national weather, 4
day forecasts,
and more!! Check the site out for more and grab the files here.
WeatherSix.roku.zip is the main
application you'll need to use the program.
WeatherSix_bkgnd.zip contains
additional background images. Please read the "setup" guide on the
author's homepage.
WeatherSix_205source.zip is
the source for you friendly hackers. Have at it, submit patches,
features, etc.. to the author and I will update accordingly.
MPlay is another plugin certainly
worth using. Visit HERE
for more information. MPlay has the capability
to playback your ripped DVDs with 5.1 surround! Now if only there were
a way to overclock the Roku.
For those of you using a Roku
HD1000 I would highly recommend the 2.0
Beta firmware. I would have to
say the Roku is more responsive overall compared to the older 1.5.18
firmware. When flashing your Roku please be patient! Give yourself 10
minutes to forget about it and the Roku will be back online. Once you
have a 2.0 series firmware you'll be able to automatically update each
time over the internet directly through the HD1000.
